Comfrey – since more than 2000 years Comfrey has been used to heal wounds and damaged skin. Its outstanding skin healing properties makes it an invaluable medicinal herb in skin treatment. It contains a high amount of Allantoin which is very useful to stimulate the regeneration of cells and to make sensitive skin more resilient. Comfrey is a natural moisturizer and is very soothing, preventing damage to tissues, even stimulating the production of cartilage, tendons and muscles and is widely used as “blood, bone and flesh builder”. It is known to very effective in the treatment of eczema, dermatitis and other viral skin infections. The anti-inflammatory properties of Comfrey are not only useful on the skin, they are also useful to alleviate pain and inflammations of bones, sprains, arthritis and wounds. – A magic medicinal herb!

Olive Oil - We use one of the best South African cold pressed extra virgin Olive Oils available on the market. It is by a large margin our most important vegetable oil used in our soap making processes and is usually the first oil on the recipe.

It has been the favourite of soap maker since ancient times. It penetrates the skin better than any other oil. The resulting soaps are moisturizing as well as mild. It is packed with vitamins, minerals and proteins and produces mild, creamy soaps with great emollient properties. Olive oil based soaps are perfect for people with a dry or sensitive skin including eczema and psoriasis.

Olive oil is rich in antioxidants, which help to protect the skin against free radicals which promote aging. Its oleic acids and polyphenols  help prevent wrinkles and sagging of skin.

Macadamia Nut Oil is rich in Palmitoleic Acid making it an effective antioxidant protecting the cell membranes from damage through free radicals. The fatty acid composition is similar to the human sebum.

Since the Palmitoleic Acid production in our skin declines with age, Macadamia Nut Oil is very useful for mature and dry skin, which needs nourishment and moisture. It penetrates and hydrates the skin quickly providing the important fatty acid needed.

It absorbs well into the skin and is highly emollient and soothing.

Recent studies have also shown good anti-microbial activity on the skin surface.
