Immortelle

is part of our Fynbos flora.  Immortelle produces a fascinating, rich, multi-layered, sexy, desirable, satisfying aroma – but not everyone loves it. It has traditionally been used for its anti-inflammatory, analgesic, cell regenerating, pain reducing and calming properties. It stimulates the production of Collagen.

The essential oil has been applied to stretch marks, acne scars, surgical scars, and wounds. Rejuvenating, living up to it’s name, the powerful components of Immortelle do a great job of slowing down the production of wrinkles, keeping the skin smooth and tight slowing down the process of ageing. Because of its ability to reduce swelling, Immortelle oil is a great thing to apply to blemishes. Reduce the appearance of scars – You can use this oil to repair damaged tissue and help encourage the growth of new healthy tissue.  This makes it the perfect essential oil for scars.

The distillate has great calming properties when applied on surgical scars.

Jojoba Oil – is chemically a liquid wax, which closely resembles the natural oils and fats of the skin sebum and therefore has a great affinity to the skin. It is readily absorbed without making the skin greasy, tacky or clogging the pores assisting the rejuvenation of the skin by forming a layer with exceptional trans-epidermal water control, which is of particular importance for mature and dry skin. Jojoba Oil is very stable against oxidation, which slows down enzymatic and bacterial break-down process on the skin, ensuring long lasting protecting properties.

Important is also the ability to penetrate the outside layer of the epidermis (Stratum Corneum) and to disperse inside, softening the skin from the inside and improving its elasticity.

It also has anti-inflammatory properties which makes it an excellent choice for the treatment of Acne.

Honeybush (Cyclopia intermedia) produces significant anti-wrinkle effects, it reduces the length and depth of skin wrinkles caused by UV irradiation and inhibited thickening of the epidermal layer, in addition to suppressing collagen tissue breakdown reactions, indicating its potential use as a skin wrinkle prevention agent.

There is evidence that the phenolic compounds in honeybush are able to reduce inflammation and prevent the development of chronic inflammatory diseases. Phenolic compounds have a direct effect on down-regulating the body’s inflammatory response. This makes honeybush extract effective in providing  inflammatory relief to skin flare ups and irritation caused by conditions like psoriasis and eczema.
